House on Haunted Hill (1959) Classic Vincent Price Horror Full Movie
“Enter if you dare, but beware… the House on Haunted Hill will haunt your nightmares.”
Captivating Characters and Chilling Twists: House on Haunted Hill (1959)
House on Haunted Hill is an American horror film directed by William Castle, written by Robb White and stars Vincent Price as eccentric millionaire Frederick Loren. He and his fourth wife, Annabelle, have invited five people to the house for a “haunted house” party. Whoever stays in the house for one night will earn $10,000. As the night progresses, all the guests are trapped inside the house with ghosts, murderers, and other terrors.
The film received critical acclaim. On Rotten Tomatoes the film received a fresh 95% rating based on 22 reviews with an average rating of 7/10. Allmovie praised the film, writing, “Campy and creepy in equal measures, House on Haunted Hill deserves its status as a horror classic.”
Our story begins with the enigmatic millionaire Frederick Loren, played by the charismatic Vincent Price. Loren invites five strangers to spend the night in his haunted mansion, promising them each a hefty sum of ten thousand dollars if they survive until morning. As the guests arrive, we are introduced to a diverse cast of characters, each with their own secrets and motivations.
First, we meet the lovely Nora Manning, portrayed by the talented Carolyn Craig. Nora is a timid young woman who desperately needs the money offered by Loren. Her vulnerability and innocence make her an easy target for the supernatural forces that lurk within the house.
Next, we have the charming and suave Lance Schroeder, played by Richard Long. Lance is a test pilot who is not easily shaken by the paranormal. His skepticism and bravery provide a refreshing contrast to the fear that permeates the mansion.
Then, there is the enigmatic Dr. David Trent, portrayed by Alan Marshal. Driven by his scientific curiosity, Trent is determined to uncover the secrets of the house. However, his relentless pursuit of knowledge may lead him down a dangerous path.
The fourth guest is the eccentric and eccentrically dressed Watson Pritchard, played by Elisha Cook Jr. Pritchard is the only person who has spent a significant amount of time in the house and is haunted by its dark history. His knowledge of the mansion’s secrets adds an extra layer of mystery to the already chilling atmosphere.
Last but not least, we have Ruth Bridgers, portrayed by Julie Mitchum. Ruth is a newspaper columnist who is skeptical of the supernatural. Her sharp wit and skepticism provide a much-needed dose of humor amidst the terror.
As the night progresses, the guests find themselves trapped in the mansion, with no way to escape. Strange occurrences and ghostly apparitions begin to haunt them, testing their sanity and resolve. The tension builds as they try to unravel the mysteries of the house and survive until morning.
Director William Castle masterfully crafts a suspenseful and atmospheric film, using clever camera angles and eerie sound effects to keep the audience on the edge of their seats. The twists and turns in the plot keep us guessing until the very end, with unexpected and shocking revelations.
House on Haunted Hill is a delightful blend of horror and humor, with Vincent Price stealing the show with his charismatic performance. His witty one-liners and devilish charm make him a memorable and iconic character in the horror genre.
House on Haunted Hill (1959) is a timeless classic that continues to captivate audiences with its colorful characters and chilling twists. The combination of suspense, humor, and supernatural elements make it a must-watch for any horror enthusiast. So, gather your courage and prepare for a night of frights and delights in the House on Haunted Hill.

4 years ago10,000 must have been a lot back then. lol Nowadays it would have to be a million like in the 2nd 1998 version of this. Which btw is good but not as good as this one. Not even close. Horror movies now could take a good lesson from this movie. You don't have to kill off every character for the movie to be good and scary. Killing off everyone makes the movie suck IMO.

2 years agoThe skeleton at the end is real. It was easier to get one from a bio supply house than have special effects dept. make one (acc to IMDB)….you'd think the prop dept. would already have a fake one but I guess not.

1 year agoI am delivering a sermon to you 🙏😊 please read
Consistently Pray for forgiveness, guidance in a good (positive) direction, and for help against evil. Pray to be saved from hell (whatever that may be). Pray for your friends and your family too, it only takes a minute or so/less at a time to pray. Do it and your life will slowly get better, or maybe quickly. It probably just depends on you and the kind of person you are/have been. Don't wait until its too late and you have to suffer the consequences of built up bad karma from immoral acts/unrepented sins. Maybe together we can help make the world a better place by changing ourselves for the better, and changing things around us for the better.
And addressing/thanking the CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE, LORD GOD at the beginning and end of your prayers would be a good idea.
Be my friend and I will pray for you, but I do not know how much help me doing so will give you. You should try to practice daily prayer yourself.
I'm trying to help you get right with the LORD 🙏
Amen.
I have worded a short prayer for you to say if you are not sure what words to use, it may not be the best but here it is 😊
'' CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE, LORD GOD,
Please forgive me and my friends and my family for our immoral acts, please help guide us in a positive direction and please help us against evil. Please save us from Hell and have mercy on our souls. Thank you for everything CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE, LORD GOD. Amen. ''
Please say this at least once a day for at least a month, do it longer if you want to and can 🙏
You should prostrate yourself if you don't want to do spoken prayer, or do both 🙏😊 Please worship the LORD GOD and not any idol.
Please put your hands together 🙏 bow your head and say this prayer:
"CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE, LORD GOD, please know that I worship you and not any idols. Thank you for everything CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE, LORD GOD. Amen"
Say ' Om Namah Shivaya ' or ' Om Namo Bhagavate Rudraya ' out loud or in your head 108 times, or try to do it 1008 times 😊 try to do it everyday if you want
repeat this aloud for as long as you want to, try to do it for like an hour a day or say it in a prayer "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner"
You can also say this prayer once a day or repeat it aloud as many times as you would like to:
"Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen."
Thessalonians 5:16-18
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
Philippians 4:6-7
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
"O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of mercy for us, I trust in You!" Repeat this aloud at least 3 times or as many as you want, do it everyday if you can
I apologize for all the words 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😊 I know how it may look
If you can't remember the words to any prayer, pray the words as you read them 🙏
