Contact
“We are not alone…” Two-time Academy Award-winner Jodie Foster and Hollywood’s brightest new star, Matthew McConaughey, shine in this spellbinding drama of a dedicated astronomer’s quest to make first Contact. Despite scorn from her colleagues, “Ellie” Arroway devoutly eavesdrops on the universe. And then, one fateful morning, she hears a cryptic signal. As the world’s scientists scramble to decode “the message,” Ellie must struggle to become Earth’s single emissary on a journey beyond theory or experience. Seeking support, she turns top-level government advisor, Palmer Joss . Separated by very different beliefs, they reunite in their passion for knowledge and truth. From Academy Award-winning director Robert Zemeckis and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Carl Sagan’s best-seller comes the story of a visionary scientist’s unshakable conviction that somewhere in this boundless universe an intelligence yearns for Contact.

1 month agoToday out of touch Hollywood can't even come close to quality movie making like this one. Jodie Foster is a special kind of actress.

1 month agoAlways count on Leftists to inject their Leftist propaganda into shit. I can think of a time a violent political act occurred that wasn't perpetrated by a Leftist.

1 month agoIt's always a bit cringeworthy in retrospect to see Jodie with a male love interest. It must have creeped her out.

1 month agoThis is one of my favorite scifi movies of all time, and with that being said, my only criticism of this is that at the end there should have been another signal start up that would presumably begin the next step in the Contact process.

1 month agoTime stamp 1:16:40 I thought she said "That means that your a select whore and I'm a selectee." I'm watching the movie a second time and now I hear she truly says "I'm a sector and your a selectee." When I was younger I heard Mick Jagger sing "I'll never be your pizza burning." I know now it's "I'll never be your beast of burden."

1 month agoits pitch dark outside when she is looking through the telescope on the balcony waiting for her da, but then when she goes into the house to find him and goes downstairs it is clearly daylight through those windows…….. thats an error made by the on set consistency tracker (real job)… anyway, thats like the saddest scene in the whole movie from when she finds her dad to the funeral where shes trying to reach him on the amateur radio…… 🙁
