Survival is the only option in a world where humanity is the enemy.
Exploring the Post-Apocalyptic World of Hostile
In the post-apocalyptic world of the 2017 film Hostile, viewers are taken on a thrilling and emotional journey through a desolate landscape where survival is the ultimate goal. The film follows the story of Juliette, a young woman who is struggling to survive in a world ravaged by a mysterious virus that has decimated the population and left the remaining survivors fighting for their lives.
As the film opens, we are introduced to Juliette as she navigates the dangerous terrain of the wasteland, scavenging for supplies and constantly on the lookout for threats. The world of Hostile is bleak and unforgiving, with abandoned buildings and crumbling infrastructure serving as a constant reminder of the world that once was.
Despite the harsh conditions, Juliette is determined to survive, drawing on her resourcefulness and resilience to stay alive. Forced to confront her past and make difficult choices, Juliette must find the strength to fight back and survive.
One of the most striking aspects of Hostile is its visual style, which captures the desolation and despair of the post-apocalyptic world in stunning detail. The cinematography is haunting and atmospheric, with sweeping shots of the barren landscape and dilapidated buildings creating a sense of isolation and hopelessness.
The film also explores themes of loss, redemption, and the power of human connection in the face of adversity. Juliette’s journey is not just one of survival, but also of self-discovery and growth as she confronts her own demons and learns to trust others in order to survive.
The character of Juliette is brought to life by actress Brittany Ashworth, who delivers a powerful and nuanced performance that captures the complexity of her character. Ashworth’s portrayal of Juliette is raw and emotional, drawing viewers into her world and making them feel her pain and determination.
As Juliette’s story unfolds, we are taken on a rollercoaster of emotions, from heart-pounding action sequences to quiet moments of reflection. The film’s pacing is expertly handled, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats while also allowing for moments of introspection and character development.
Hostile is a gripping and thought-provoking film that offers a fresh take on the post-apocalyptic genre. It is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of hope in the face of overwhelming odds. With its stunning visuals, compelling performances, and emotional depth, Hostile is a must-see for fans of dystopian cinema.

European Flik? I tried three times to get through this movie. It seems like a really good 45 minute movie stretched into an hour and a half.
"Constant Flashbacks of a Life Destroyed" might be a better title.

3 months agoIt's fucked up that the advertisements start 2 seconds into the movie. At the very least. Get to the name of the movie before the advertising starts.

3 months agoIt wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. Constant flashbacks through an entire movie just ruins the whole thing. Get the back story out of the way to begin with and then just get on with the main story it makes for a far better movie.

show more show lessGood acting and cast.
This wasn't my cup of tea, but it wasn't horrible. Definitely worth watching. It seemed slow, but the story and how it played out it had a nice solid pace. I read a comment about this being a gem. I honestly don't think so, but I'll rate 7/8 out of 10. This style isn't really what I prefer, but I've seen way way worse than this. Have fun…
