Hello, I’m Daywalker, and welcome to my humble blog. I’m the owner, administrator, and an Army of One.
While primarily a horror web blog, you will also find paranormal, extraterrestrial, cryptid, sci-fi, and fantasy in the mix. I do think you will find a little something for everyone here.
As long as I can remember, I have been a huge fan of horror movies, and everything involved with their creation. The who, what, when and where of it all intrigues me. I was born a few years after the golden age of horror (1931-1946), but many of the top actors and directors that emerged during that time, brought us Frankenstein, Dracula, Wolfman, the Mummy, and the Invisible Man. Those were my original movie hero’s and the “Freddy Kruger, Michael Meyers, Jason Voorhees, and Pinhead’s of my day. My fascination begins with the people that create them, includes the actors who play their roles, and covers all the processes in between that give each movie a life of its own. While I do not consider myself a movie critic per se, like art, I do know what I like and what draws me completely into the experience.
I’ve never been one to sleep with the lights on, check under the bed or close closet doors, but on rare occasion a movie will touch my psyche and give me pause. Those are the rare gems that I love to find and share whenever I come across one. That being said, I also want to share those smaller gems that don’t try to be more than they are at face value. The ones that will grab your interest, keep you entertained, and have those elusive rewatchable qualities.
I’m a creature feature guy, love horror sci-fi, and horror comedy. If you add plenty of action and mystery to the mix, I’m a happy camper.
I do always look for decent quality and balance of the elements below:
Acting
Cinematography
Continuity
Score/Soundtrack
Storyline
Horror movies are meant to be entertainment and a simple escape from the reality in which we all live. They don’t have to be Oscar-worthy to accomplish their goal, but they do need to be entertaining enough to hold your attention. So once again, not a critic, I just try to sort the diamonds from the rough and report that back to you. I don’t review movies, I just give you my 2 cents for what it’s worth.
When I post a review it could simply be a witty summary, a technical assessment, a breakdown of it’s individual elements, or a combination things. I go with what my gut tells me at the time. It just depends on my mood, and that’s the beauty of having your own blog.
Everyone has their likes, dislikes, and their own opinion. Your going to find the good, the bad, and the ugly on this blog. Just sort through the mix and see if you can’t find a rare gem or two that you enjoy.
Thank you so much for stopping by. Take Care and Be Safe Always!
Respects, Daywalker
