It! The Terror From Beyond Space
Following a rescue mission to Mars, the survivor of a space expedition claims that his crew was hunted down and killed by an alien creature. Skeptical, and believing that the survivor may have killed the crew in order to survive, the rescue captain dismisses the explanation only to find that a Martian creature has stowed away on the spacecraft and begins to hunt the human hosts. “It! The Terror From Beyond Space” stars Marshall Thompson (“Battle Taxi”) as Col. Carruthers, Shirley Patterson (“The Land Unknown” under the pseudonym Shawn Smith) as Ann Anderson, Kim Spalding (“The Gunfighter”) as Col. Van Heusen and Ray Corrigan (“New Frontier”) as “It”.

5 months agoIn 1958, they were so optimistic about the progress of space exploration, they thought in only 15 years, in 1973, they would be exploring Mars. Unfortunately, that's when we stopped, cancelling trips to the Moon. 50 plus years later, we're still trying to get back.

5 months agoThe first time I saw this movie was in 1966, and even as kids we had the same questions. What would happen to the crew if you unshielded a nuclear reactor on a spaceship? Are there really futuristic 30.06 cartridges that only hit the monster, and not the thin aluminum skin of the spaceship? What would happen to the guy with the torch and broken faceplate when the interior of the spaceship was exposed to a vacuum? You really had to use your imagination back then.

5 months agoThe basic story is good. This is one of my favorite sci-fi's of the 1950s. It's too bad that Hollywood wasn't savvy enough at the time to invest more in this film's production. But that was the problem with Hollywood in those days. The direct line from this film to Ridley Scott's ALIEN is clear.

5 months agoI loved this movie when I was a kid, and still do, but now I realize that this crew taking the colonel back to earth was actually pretty inept. They're bringing a 9x murder back to earth and they let him loose on the ship. No cuffs, no confinement, nothing. The colonel could be the John Wick of the 50s (he'd have to be to rack that body count). "He killed one of them with a toggle switch! A f#$king toggle switch!"

5 months agoMy uncle took me to see this film when it first came out, as a birthday present. I didn't sleep for over a week. I just knew it was under my bed. THEN, in the 1970s I saw it again with the IBM size air conditioning vents and the hand grenades in a wooden box that could blow the ship to pieces and I started laughing. This movie is something.

5 months agoRoom full of grenades didn't stop IT. Let's try pistols! "We'll use the gas grenades as a last resort." Then use gas grenades in the next scene. This movie is gold. Wonder how I missed it as a kid.

5 months agoImagine hand grenades and bazooka's fired inside a space craft… What could go wrong? š
All kidding aside. I saw this as a kid and yeah, it was a little scary. The monster suit looks to be the inspiration for the one used (I think) in the movie "The Monster from Piedras Blancas".

5 months agoWhat a hoot, love these old scifi movies! Grenades, bullets and radiation all over the ship and still nothing will kill it. Heck, they should have given it a can of Lima beans, that would have done it!
@gerardosalazar161
5 months agoLove those those movies where everybody would carry a .45 in the hip; it was because they knew that a monster would come aboard and kill half of them but only the men, women were never hurt.
